Welcome to our Hidden Lake Elementary School Counseling site! We are incredibly excited to kick off the 2025-2026 school year! I have no doubt that it will be a fun and learning rich adventure. 

About Our Counselor

Hello! My name is Amelia Chapa and I have been in education since 2010. Prior to being a counselor, I was a teacher for grades PK, 1st, 4th, and 5th. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work with your amazing children. I look forward to helping them be successful inside and outside of school. My goal is to equip them with the necessary tools to be fluent at being empathetic, solving conflict, regulating their emotions, and most importantly, valuing themselves.

 As a school counselor, some of my primary responsibilities include the following: 

• Teaching K-5th SEL Lessons 
• Student Support Groups
• Short-term individual student counseling
• Consultation for teachers and parents
• Coordinator for No Place for Hate and its coalition
• Coordinator for Second Step curriculum
• Coordinator for Red Ribbon Week /College and Career Readiness Week
• Evaluator for GT and Credit by Exam
